Shane Lowry fulfilled his childhood dream of winning his first major at the 148th Open Championship held at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. It was CSP's 6th Open Championship, providing services to the R&A, providing consultation, planning, logistics management and support during the build up and break down, as well as managing the car parking and traffic operations during the event.
Taking place every Sunday from 2nd – 23rd July, the series will see Regent Street become pedestrianised from Oxford Circus all the way to Piccadilly Circus, offering the chance for Londoners and visitors alike to relax, unwind and enjoy a fantastic range of entertainment and activities along the street - entirely for free!
Our title refers to some great touchpoints that those visiting The Championships at The All England Lawn Tennis Club would have experienced this year. Whilst we can't influence the first four, we certainly hope that we played a part in influencing the arrivals and departures at both ends of the day at the world's greatest tennis tournament. Our operations have grown over the last 3 years from supporting build up and break down periods to managing crossings and traffic management, an element of security cover and the management of Car Park 10.
We were incredibly proud to support the first MLB (Major League Baseball) Series at London Stadium. What better way to kick off than with two of the most recognised teams: Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. Both steeped in baseball tradition (Take Me Out To The Ball Park) but both with their own traditions (Sweet Caroline and YMCA). The Yankees won both days and there were 10 home runs scored across the series which gave the UK crowd a great induction.
No....not the Mel Gibson film. But our very own Mel Gibson, Steven Reilly, who started with us under the Apprenticeship Levy last year and has now qualified into a permanent role, has been busy utilising our new signage printer to expand our service and produce additional traffic signs for The Forestry Commission and Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre as well as producing our standard requirements. A growing part of our business as we can now supply traffic signage to new clients who may not have a requirement for our other services.
CSP are pleased to have completed yet another Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse. The 2019 Epsom Derby was the 240th annual running of the Derby and took place on 1 June 2019. The race was sponsored by Investec. The winner was the Coolmore Stud's bay colt Anthony Van Dyck, ridden by Seamie Heffernan .
