Farewell Tony ...
At the end of January we waved farewell to our former Managing Director, Tony Nikolic who has taken the decision to retire from full time employment after a long and successful career in the Events industry.
7 years ago, Tony rejoined CSP from Wembley Stadium to return as Managing Director, having formally been the General Manager some years earlier. Supported by CSP’s founder and former Chairman Dave Butler and the wider Management team, the last 7 years have seen the business transform.
Tony proudly reflected on his tenure, "It’s been a rewarding journey and we have achieved so much in a short time. We grew a financially profitable and sustainable model by retreating to focus on the ‘basics’ and in doing so, accelerated our growth. We went from being in the top 75% in the SIA ACS audit to being recognised as an ACS Pacesetter. We secured long term signed contracts (5 years in the case of one prestigious client). We brought in HVM operations and expanded operations into Europe (including The Ryder Cup in Paris and Rome). We supported major international events such as G7, COP26, Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 whilst maintaining our Investors in People status. We introduced on-line Inductions for all staff and last year The Development Hub, our digital training programme. We got through COVID with no redundancies. We grew our CSAS operations. We brought Traffic accreditation training in-house. We off-set our carbon footprint. We opened a northern hub and secured a major Premier League client in the process."
It is fair to say, it's been a 7 year period which has seen the business significantly evolve, but competing with much of the above, Tony will be credited with thoroughly embedding the Values of Caring Safe Professional, which now form the bedrock for the next phase of exciting growth for the business.
