'The Difference is You' is a programme designed to reflect the ever changing needs of our industry, clients and customers. The expectations and demands on CSP continue to grow at a rapid pace, with the bar constantly being raised in terms of operational excellence, client relationship management and customer experience. It is essential we develop our leaders with the right skills and behaviours to equip them to tackle the demands we face daily.
The Ryder Cup presented us with a fantastic opportunity to grow our relationship with PGA Europe by supporting the car parking/traffic management in Paris this year. A lot of planning when into this event throughout the year by Graham Arnott, including a staffing agency dropping out a few months before the event. Graham's perseverance meant that not only did we supply the numbers required (around 300 per day) whilst training and managing them, but we also took on additional work supporting the cleaning operations at short notice to ensure that the event was a success.

It is important to us that we ensure our team are trained correctly in order to be able to deliver the highest and safest levels of service to our clients and customers. We recently set up a Banksman Training course at Alexandra Palace with a new provider, and it would appear that the team attending all benefitted significantly and seemed to enjoy themselves. We have also noted Richard Mulcaster, our Head of Safety and Compliance enthusiastic participation, so now know we can call on him when required to support ;).
A statue of former England manager Graham Taylor has been unveiled at Watford FC's ground. Taylor, who died aged 72 in January 2017, led Watford FC from the Fourth Division to runners-up in the old First Division in five years. The statue was commissioned to recognise his "unparalleled achievements as Watford's greatest ever manager", the club said. It stands outside the Hornets Shop at the club's Vicarage Road ground. The bronze statue took award-winning sculptor Douglas Jennings a year to create.
When the Apprenticeship Levy was launched, I found it interesting talking to other companies on how they were going to use it as no-one appeared to really understand it. Our own HR Manager at the time indicated the funds could be used to up-skill some of our existing work-force, but neglected to mention the study time that would have to be put in on a weekly basis, which would prove impossible operationally during busy parts of the season. At any rate, that isn't what it was designed to do.
